Credentials

With over 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse(RN) I have personally delivered 32 babies. And have participated in over 150 births as a doula, qualified midwife in Ireland, and as a RN in California.

As a nurse I am intimately familiar with Davis hospitals and their protocol. I've have in depth knowledge and training in pre-natal and post-natal care of mother and baby in Davis including breastfeeding. I am a certified RN and a doula with The Birthing Project of Sacramento. I believe strongly that a woman in labor and delivery should have the constant presence of another woman experienced in the birth process and who is empathetic. I see my role as an educator, a comforter and a supporter; I empower, reassure and help the woman to be as relaxed and calm as possible through the process of labor and delivery.

As a doula, a mother, a midwife and an RN, I can provide a uniquely-experienced voice "translating" options that might arise as a result of this most profound of life experiences.
